FMH Updates
Submitted By Liz Bigelow on Thursday, November 4, 2021
We are a month into the season and we are back playing hockey!  It is great to watch our players competing again. It has been an incredibly busy time for your Board of Directors and Coaching Staff as we have had to cram what normally takes 2.5 months (registration, tryouts, evaluations, rostering, ice-scheduling) into 1 month. We appreciate your patience.

All 12+ players are now required to be vaccinated.  We have requested that coaches visually confirm vaccination status of each member of their team NLT Friday 12 Nov.  This is required for rostering. Players who are not vaccinated cannot be rostered and are no longer eligible to play.
While 12-18 year old players will not have their vaccination status confirmed at FCA,  each rink is different so we encourage parents to carry around ID and Vax confirmation for their players.
We have had a few questions on Jerseys.
In summary:
1) U11 and below HL players already have new jerseys.
2) For U13 and above HL players we made the decision to replace all the pre-existing Jersey sets at no additional cost to families.  Unfortunately, we no longer had complete sets.  In some cases they were not returned at the end of the year. In other cases they were damaged.
3) All HL Jersey’s were ordered mid-late September once registration numbers became clearer.  There has been some unexpected delay because of global supply chain issues.  Many traditional jersey suppliers did not carry the same stock, as they did not know what the 21/22 season was going to look like.
4) We will be handing out these Jerseys starting this week.  Some have already arrived (U18 x 2 & U13 x 1).
5) Rep Jerseys were ordered mid-Oct.  Rep families are paying for their jerseys.  We anticipate them arrive in the next few weeks
NOTE - U13 & above HL players must return any jerseys that they have been given in previous seasons/evaluations.  There is a box outside the equipment room.  At every practice I attend, I see players wearing Jersey’s that should have been returned

As you may recall, there was a $100 fundraising fee attached to each families registration fee (i.e - if you have more then 1 player, you only paid it once).  In December each family will be given 5 tickets that you can sell for $20 each, for a total of $100 or keep for yourself and enter in the draw.  Complete the tickets and place them in the FMH RAFFLE Box located outside our new storage room.  Around the end of January- early February, we will begin drawing names for the $1000 prizes!!  More information will follow in December once tickets are ready
Note that you have already paid the $100.  Selling the $20 tickets allows you to re-coup some of this money

FMH has purchased 6 new sets of goalie equipment.  2 sets will be for our 2 x U11 HL teams.  The remaining 4 sets have been given to our U9, U8 and U7 programs.

We are happy to announce that all HL players U15 and below will be receiving free monthly Development Sessions by Goalie and Power Skating Instructors.  This extra development is at no extra cost to our families.  The next session is 22/23 November.
Our referee-in-chief has hired an additional 6 refs and 6-7 timekeepers.  This is fantastic news as many other centres are having to cancel games due to a lack of officials.  Thanks to Willie Wilson for organizing!  I remind all spectators that these officials come from our Frontenac family and some are still learning. Lets show them the respect and patience they deserve
