Rep Hockey
Rep tryouts are ongoing.  Teams should be finalized by the weekend of 16/17 Sep

Local League Hockey
All local league programming can be found online here:

First ice is 16 Sept.  The week of 16 Sept is Shake the Rust.  Local League Evaluations are scheduled for 23 Sep. The following week will consist of evaluation games between the local league teams.

The plan right now is to have 2 x teams at the U8, U13, U15, U18 level.  There will be 1 x U9 team, and 2-3 x U11 teams (TBC)

Local League Team Construction
Our goal is to always balance our local league teams.  We usually get it right.  Occasionally we do not.  Over the years we have developed the following procedure:
1 - All Local League players are evaluated by a group of coaches/executive & parents
2 - On the day of evaluations the teams are broken up.  Factors considered include skill, age (major/minor), coaches, goalies, roster size and parents requests
3 - Initial rosters are made by the Executive.  The Local League coaches are part of the process.  Coaches have an opportunity to make adjustments
4 - The following week the Local League teams scrimmage to ensure they are equal.  Coaches are given an opportunity to make adjustments

Parent Requests - We have been overwhelmed with parent requests this year.  While we will try our best we can never promise.  The best way to guarantee a parent request is to volunteer to be a coach/bench staff

Schedules
The DRAFT practice schedule has been online for the last month.  It will be firmed up once Local League teams have been finalized.  The Rep Scheduling Meeting is 1 Oct with games starting Thanksgiving.  The Local League Scheduling Meeting is 4/5 Oct with games starting 14 Oct.  We will update the online Calendar ASAP

Coaches
Coaches, Bench Staff and Managers are critical for outstanding years.  There is nothing more rewarding to see first hand our players develop

Every year we are have trouble finding volunteers for coaches/bench staff.  Right now we need 1 x U9, 2 -3 x U11, 1 x U13, and 2 x U18 Local League coaches.  Please let us know if you are interested.  Without volunteers we will need to limit programming

My recommendation is to get 2-3 parents who are interested in running a team.  This will ensure your kids are on the same team.  Please let us know ASAP if you are interested

FMH Survey
We would like to thank all of our families for participating in the online survey. There was some great stuff in there. We have compiled the results and are analyzing the data.  We will provide a comprehensive report shortly

IP and Learn To Skate
Kelsey Shulist (IP Coordinator) and Reshelle Leonard (LTS  Coordinator) will be sending emails directly to all of our IP and LTS families.  You are the FMH future.  Welcome!
If you have any questions, please contact Kelsey at [email protected]

Volunteer Appreciation
I personally want to thank all the volunteers for the hundreds of hours they have put into getting our programming up and running.  It is inspiring to see everyone come together to create such an incredible program.  If you are interested in joining the team please let us know.  In particular, I would like some social media volunteers.
