The Flyers Bantam Rep team went on a road trip this weekend to Niagara Falls and left their mark at the Fort Erie Winter Challenge
These hard working boys went up against some tough competition this weekend in the Fort Erie Winter Challenge. Their first game on Friday against the Merriton Bulldogs ended in a back and forth battle with the Flyers coming back from a one goal deficit in a nail biting 1-1 tie. Later that night the Flyers played one of their best defensive games and battled on to celebrate their shut-out against the Grimsby Kings for a 1-0 win. On Saturday the boys
warmed up for their game by taking a long
cold walk down to catch a view of the Falls. When they thawed out they again took a well deserved win against the home town team, the Fort Erie Meteors, winning an exciting game at 4-2. This moved them on to play Sunday morning in the Semi-Finals against the Ajax Knights. It was a fast paced game and the boys played their hardest. Down 2-1 going into the third period, the Flyers pressured them hard offensively but Ajax took the win in the third scoring an open net goal in the last minute of play.
Coaches, players and families had a great weekend and it was a real pleasure to see everyone come together as teammates and as friends both on and off the ice
