Novice Rep Undefeated in Millbrook Stars Tournament
Submitted By Liz Bigelow on Thu 11 02, 17
This past weekend the Novice Rep team attended the Millbrook Stars Tournament in the Port Hope area.

The boys put together an impressive showing in the tournament going 4-0 and ultimately winning the championship banner.
They worked hard as a team putting up 16 goals and only allowing 2, with 2/4 shutouts, this put them in 1st place in the tournament and gave them an automatic buy to the finals on Sunday.  They also played a ‘filler’ game on Saturday evening which they won 2-0 as well.
The final game on Sunday was a hard fought battle against the Mariposa Lightning with the game remaining scoreless until mid-way through the 3rd period when we were finally able to put one in the net, they hit 2 goal posts and had a goal called off prior to this goal.
As a “special extra” the boys played all weekend with pink tape on their sticks to show their support to members of their families and the community as a whole for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.   As the Manager of the team I can speak for the parents and the coaching staff and say that we all could not be more proud of these boys for their hard work, their respectful representation of the Frontenac Minor Hockey Program & for coming home as champions on and off the ice.
