GOOD START TO THE SEASON........
Submitted By Jack Pixley on Sunday, October 18, 2020
Hello Frontenac Flyer Families,

In the next couple of weeks we will add scrimmages/games to our schedules.  Please remember these scrimmages/games are much different than what you are used to.   No puck drops with continuous play.  It will take time to get used to.

Communication for your teams for scrimmages/games will be provided by coaches as our practice groups get split into 9 players or smaller and 1 goalie roster sizes.   Reminder to respect Loyalist arena policies as they may be a bit different than what we are used to.
More info to follow shortly.

We are currently on ice with development only.  With rising covid cases in Ontario we are to continue with development a little longer.  If we can - a Tier 1 and Tier 2 house league system is being planned, within our local health unit with Loyalist (Tier 1 and 2) and Stone Mills (Tier 2).  Tier 1 would still be similar to our Rep program in past and Tier 2 similar to our past local league program.  Tier 1 players will have extra development ice as in past (with added costs) and Tier 2 will be 1 hr practice/development and then 1 hr scrimmages/games approximately when we start scrimmages/games.

We met with Loyalist and SM and will meet again again to schedule scrimmages/games.  These scrimmages look a lot different from what we are used to.  Tier 1 players will be identified by previous year (if they were rep players) and coaches have discretion to add in AP players or House league players for these development sessions.  We have secured a little extra ice for these scrimmage games.  9 players and 1 goalie max per team and 50 players max per league under current restrictions under OMHA rules.  These games will start either 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 currently.  Players are only allowed to play on 1 team as per the OHF currently with no affiliation and teams can only play within local Health unit currently.

If our season is cut short due to rising Covid numbers we will issue full refunds pro rated (this also now must include a $100 admin fee to cover costs) on ice time that has been used.

We will update this email regularly.

Remember if you don't need to be in the rink please wait outside for your player(s).

Thanks

Sign in sheets must be signed by spectators and players coaches hand in attendance sheets after each session as well.  By bringing your player to hockey you are signing off on the following document also on our website under documents.

Currently we are in Stage 3b.  There is a new OHF udpated plan to Stage 3 and it's policies.  Slower approach being taken now with Covid numbers rising.
