Coaches are the backbone of FMH programming. A good bench staff can make or break a season for our athletes. We have always been very fortunate to have a dedicated group of coaches. They spend countless hours, planning the season, preparing practice plans, on the ice, and behind the bench.
We need your help!
Please find the application form for 2023/24 head coaches on the website. The deadline for submissions is Friday 10 March. We are accepting applications for both Rep and Local League. Our goal is to have coaches chosen by early April
The Process. We have a transparent and fair process to choose our coaches. Here is a summary of the process:
1 - A call for applications is made (this email)
2 - A coaching committee is struck by our coach coordinator Brent Hole. On this committee is Brent Hole, an outside member (with no affiliation to FMH), and an internal member (usually a former coach or Exec member)
3 - All candidates are vetted by the coaching committee. This may include an interview and review of practice plans and season plans
4 - The coaching committee will make a recommendation to the FMH Board
5 - The FMH Board will vote to accept/decline the coaching committee recommendation.
Note: Board members with a conflict of interest (i.e - a child in the age division) cannot vote. All votes are done anonymously.
