Notes from Parents meeting 09/19/2016
Coaches/Parents meeting
1. Brian's coaching philosophy - have fun, be respectful (players, coaches, officials), win and lose gracefully. He introduced all of the coaching staff as well.
2. Player/parent contract from FMHA sign and return
3. Games - show up 1 hour before (players will have warm ups), practices - 1/2 hour before
4. Tournaments - email coming from Christina right away. First is Oct 21 St. George, second Jan 5 Fort Erie, both are 3 day tourneys
5. cheque for $110 altogether to pay for both ASAP
6. Fundraising - Jen Richards (hopefully) ? hockey pool, bottle raffle, bottle drive
7. Schedule is up and running (mostly accurate). Game Friday night and Sunday this weekend. Practices alternate Tuesdays and Thursdays 1 1/2 hours long
8. Apparel - hoping everyone can wear a jacket. Apparel is for sale at PG Sports. Don't forget socks and name bars is you need them. Let them know you need a rep jacket.
9. Brian encourages dress up shirt and tie, presentable attire
10. Anniversary jersey is in the works for the 40th - retro colours. Players do not know about this surprise yet. Cost will be $75. any objections? Hopefully we will do a fall BBQ at the rink during games to offset costs, will need extra name bar
11. Rep fees of about $200 each coming soon
12. Sponsors ? can players get sponsors. Short answer is yes, but we are trying to avoid all players feeling that they need to do this. Not wanting sponsors on jerseys. parent proposed a team photo and thank you instead. Brian is looking into a team sponsorship.
13. Jerseys - garment bags to be purchased. Shelley is taking on this job for now. If you would like to take part of season or a month at a time see her. Home and away jerseys come to all games.
14. Food Drive - we need to give back to community either as food drive or something else- ideas?
15. Bantam level play - the game gets ROUGH, parents need to be prepared for this, can be dirty hits , let officials do their job
16. Medical forms - fill out and return to Eric
