What we really know.........
Submitted By Jack Pixley on Friday, July 31, 2020
Hello Frontenac Flyer Families

Currently we are in Stage 3 a.  https://www.ohf.on.ca/media/tukpds4s/ohf-return-to-hockey_0731.pdf

There are a,b,c,d and e components to Stage 3.  If we stay on schedule Sept 1 we will enter Stage 3 b.  Looks like a,b,c,d,e are based on 4 week cycles - likely to make sure Ontario continues to move in right direction.  Teams are not allowed to play outside of their league - 50 players max under current restrictions.  We can start the season to run teams 3 on 3 or 4 or 4 to currently.  Players are only allowed to play on 1 team as per the OHF with no affiliation.  Stage 4 is returning to normal hockey but when and if we get there remains to be seen.
As this years programming will be new to FMHA, it's going to take a lot of organizing to have this run smoothly.  Registration numbers will dictate ice requirements and teams are competitively balanced for everyone when/if we can start.   We are working with the FCA to provide safe policies/procedures under current restrictions.

For now we will plan to run an in house program (start tba) so please register now - no payment is allowed at this time still.  If allowed, 'Rep' teams currently only be allowed to practice for development and not able to play any games - sessions/practices for development purposes only at the moment.  No tryouts are allowed.

We are planning for a Sept 14th open at the FCA with conditioning/skills/development skills to start.  Shortly after we will plan accordingly to start our in house program and practices tba.  This could all change in a heartbeat but we are ready to have a fun, competitive and SAFE hockey program.

We can only play in house games 3 on 3 or 4 on 4 so smaller teams mean more ice to run the leagues under current restrictions - so first come first serve will have to be policy when registering.  We can't run 5 on 5 until Stage 3 d according to OHF's Return to Hockey Guidelines.

The following governing bodies will dictate our season Ontario Government, Health Canada/KFLA Health Unit, Hockey Canada, Ontario Hockey Federation and the OMHA.   We're confident a program will all skill levels can be had, as long as we all do our part and things continue to move in a positive direction.

We've opened registration at this time and need you to register if you will be playing hockey this season.  We will collect fees at a later date when we are allowed to.  With new cleaning procedures extra ice time is needed in between each user group currently.   With dressing room limitations, only so many kids may be allowed on each team.  We want to be to accommodate everyone but space may be limited depending on numbers.

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer and we will update this email regularly.

Hope to see you at the rink in September! Stay Safe!

Obviously an abrupt end to the season for the Peewee Rep team.  Team had earned a spot in the Finals vs the Ilderton Jets.  After playing at the International Silverstick in January both teams were anxious to play the final series.
